CASA provides a highly specialized volunteer service to abused and neglected children who are in the juvenile court system. CASA is a national organization with over 950 local programs across the country. CASA of Harrison and Stone Counties is one of the six local programs in Mississippi dedicated to providing and supporting volunteer advocates. CASA advocates are appointed by a Youth Court judge to be the “eyes and ears” of the court as children and their families navigate through the juvenile justice system.

CASA of Harrison and Stone counties serves over 175 foster children in Harrison and Stone counties. As of May 1, 2022, there were a total of 336 children in foster care in Harrison and Stone counties. Our organization believes every child in foster care needs and deserves a caring CASA advocate to act in their best interest until they have a permanent safe and loving home. Achieving this goal requires additional staff to help carry out our mission of recruiting and training CASA volunteer advocates to look out for the well-being of abused and neglected children while in pursuit of safe and permanent homes.
